About Your Retreat Leaders

Your retreat facilitators are healers and educators who facilitate workshops, trainings, and retreats in the realm of Ayurveda, Yoga, and Wellness on a consistent basis and consider it to be a great joy!? They also see individual clients and groups for treatment at their wellness practice in CT.? ?They are intimately familiar with the Sanctuary at Two Rivers Retreat Center, local area, community and its offerings from their yearly excursions to this beautiful and vibrant geographical location!?You will find yourself feeling at peace and cared for in a safe and supportive environment.?Developing such a profound connection through shared yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices inspired your facilitators to support others in?deepening their own relationships through these same vehicles of transformation.

They have diverse education and credentialing in the following:

Ayurvedic Medicine (Ayurvedic Health Counselors)- National Ayurveda Medical Association Accredited Education,?Yoga Alliance Certified (E-RYT200 + IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist which requires 800 post 200 hour training + client contact),? What is the retreat focus

When it comes to love of any kind? the key to synergy lies in the foundation of your relationship with both yourself and with nature. ?Integrating the principles of yoga, Ayurveda (a traditional Indian medical system), and Eastern practices into your live tunes you in to harmonize with yourself and the world around you. With the stressors of daily living, we often lose sight of an ideal work-life-balance.? We become disconnected from our truth and our radiance.

You will learn numerous tools that will serve to enhance your wisdom and wellness!? The term Sacred Science includes all of the offerings that our team specializes in:? Yoga + Eastern Practices, Ayurveda, Plant Medicine, Earth Centered Ceremony + Ritual, and Healing Food as Medicine.? We teach these concepts routinely, but there is no better way to learn than through LIVING, EATING, MOVING, and BREATHING in complete and total harmony with mother nature.

What is Ayurveda: A holistic 5,000+ year old system of integrative medicine that focuses on mind-body-spirit health and wellness through nutrition, lifestyle, movement, self-care, and herbal remedies. Ayurveda is a preventative and restorative healthcare model that can benefit each and every human being due to its natural + individualized treatment protocols.

All Are Welcome: Individuals of all backgrounds, orientations, ages, and yoga experience (no yoga to advanced yoga) are encouraged to attend!?This retreat is perfect for those actively attending to their health and wellness and also those who need a jump start, change, and strategic action plan to conquer mind-body-spirit health objectives!? There is beauty in diversity and we need to transcend energetic barriers, negative beliefs, and apprehension to vibrate higher and be our best selves!

Additional Retreat FAQs

Structure

All of our retreat guests are invited to participate in activities and classes as they feel beneficial.? There will be a great deal of balance between classes, activities, and down time for personal relaxation, reading, journaling, taking jungle hammock naps, and individual exploration of the gorgeous Sanctuary grounds and beyond. You? will be the ultimate architect of your retreat!

Location

“This Wildlife and Yoga Retreat Sanctuary is perched approximately 1000 yards slightly above the Pacific Ocean (an approximate 30 minute beach walk) in Cabuya at the southernmost tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, which is one of only five Blue Zones in the entire world by having a large concentration of centenarians living in the area. The Sanctuary is only two miles from Costa Rica’s first National Nature Preserve, Reserva Cabo Blanco, and neighbors to the quaint artistic beach-town of Montezuma and the surf towns Mal Pais and Santa Teresa.”

The journey to arrive to the Sanctuary is a one of a kind experience involving a beautiful river walk (or ride if needed) into this protected jungle oasis!

Climate

On the Nicoya Peninsula you can expect brilliant sunshine, day after day, from mid December until April with a rare occasional rain shower.
The Pacific side of Costa Rica conveniently offers sunshine guarantee during the month of February- so we are in luck!! Temperatures average in the high 80’s/ low 90’s and cool down nicely at night.? During this long and pronounced dry season many trees and shrub shed extra leaves that blossomed during the rainier month, which makes it easier for eco-tourists to spot animals.
Do not despair, you will still see beautiful blooms and greenage! Locals refer to the dry season as summer and this is also the high season for tourism.

Wildlife

On the 40 acres of Sanctuary property you will find a vibrant eco-system that is home to a wide array of flora and fauna.? Howler and Capuchin monkeys, butterflies, armadillos, iguanas, coatis (called pizottes by the locals), anteaters, and much more!

This harmless little guy sounds a lot bigger than he looks….

ConsciousCouples_Image13

Remembering one of the Sanctuary’s dog posse members, Bodhi with lots of love.? You will break bread and share the jungle with friendly (and not so wild) furry friends Warf (the chihuahua mix), Rocco (the poodle) and Luna (the sweet alpha mix).

Photo ops of Past Revitalized Open Hearted Guests….

?

Thoughts from past guests….

“There aren’t enough words to express the life changing benefits that we received from this jungle retreat. To name a few… peace, gratitude & mindfulness. Both Jimmy & Jess are wonderful co-creators of it all…. this is a must for anyone who dares to let go and be still.”? – Christine Thorn (Wolcott, CT- USA)

“Jessica and Jimmy, the soulful, dynamic duo that makes up Prima Wellness put on such an incredible retreat in Costa Rica this past February that my husband and I were so blessed to be a part of.? My husband and I were blown away so many times each day with the setting of the retreat tucked back into the jungle, the outrageously delicious food, the fun excursions and the positive energy flowing around us. We were able to strip away all of the hustle and bustle of home life and really do some soul work in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Some people may balk at the idea of a yoga retreat, but Jessica and Jimmy let everyone experience it at their own pace and never once made anyone feel like anything was mandatory. We could participate in as many activities as we felt was right for us which really helped everyone relax and stay comfortable in their own skin. We could just BE.

Jessica and Jimmy balance each other so beautifully and the retreat did a great job highlighting their strengths from their yoga flows to their workshops to their interaction with the participants. They were both so raw and open and helped set the tone for the rest of us to feel like doing the same. They are both phenomenal educators and taught us with ease all about the Ayurvedic lifestyle, yoga, and conscious activities. We came into it with an open mind and have come out of it stronger, healthier and with a bunch of amazing new jungle family members. We highly recommend all couples from new budding romances to seasoned pros to join them on this journey. The only negative is that we couldn’t extend the retreat for another week!!? Two huge thumbs up!!”? – Chelsea Kaneb? (Torrington, CT- USA)

Travel Assistance

Prima Wellness will consult with guests from the US and abroad about recommended airlines, flight itinerary, and will be very happy to support with booking all travel plans.? For our guests leaving out of the CT-NY-NJ area, we recommend a collective flight booking with the retreat leaders so that we can assist you with your travels and guide you through the entire travel journey! Newark, NJ airport is a recommended departure destination as it offers direct flights through United Airlines at a reasonable rate, which often alleviates the nuisance of layover delays and cancellations.? There are other feasible flight options as well- we will walk you through every step of the way.

Our favorite spot to lounge….

Roundtrip flights from the US are approximately $600 round trip per person depending on how early the flights are booked and deals discovered online.

2. Secondary Leg of the trip to the Nicoya Penninsula

Because a place this special needs to be somewhat off the beaten path! You are ALMOST there…..
