My philosophy as a teacher, healer, and therapeutic professional is to assist others in tapping into their own innate wisdom and healing potential to reside in a sustainable place of harmony, peace and well being.

Jessica is a wellness innovator and natural born healer.   In addition to serving as the founding director of Prima Wellness, Jessica holds clinical faculty position within Yale University’s School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry with in depth experience and statewide leadership in the mental health arena that has been evolving and flourishing since 2001.

The initial catalyst for Jessica dialing into her innate spiritual wisdom was inspired through travels to Asia, Australia, and Central America. These pathways of learning and cultural immersion served to deepen her connection to holistic wellness and the sacred sciences of both humanity and the earth. She approaches her clients from a heart centered philosophy of  non-judgement and is passionate about supporting what she entitles “whole-self health.”

Jessica is an advocate for supporting holistic treatment modalities in developing increased visibility as evidence based practices in the realms of psychiatry, health, and human services. She continues to witness the profound impact these modalities have had with alleviating symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction when combined with traditional “talk therapy.” Bridging western psychology with eastern practices is a beautiful duality to be embraced in clinical practice. Jessica’s studies and long standing love for Ayurvedic Medicine, began over fifteen years ago. Since then, she has had the privilege of earning formal certifications from the Himalayan Institute and Kerala Academy of Ayurveda in India. Jessica has also studied with luminaries Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico, Dr. Robert Swoboda, and Dr. Claudia Welch. She is in queue to finish up her doctoral studies in eastern medicine as learning is a lifelong journey and knowledge is never ending.

Jessica has also completed 800 hours of therapeutic yoga training and hands on practicum post- graduation from her 200 hour certification, earning the distinguished credential as a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist.   She has particular interest in the subtle energy anatomy, complex trauma, and nervous system regulation.

An important area of specialty focus for Jessica is the psychospiritual aspects of plant medicine in relationship to both Ayurveda and western herbalism and indigenous/native traditions.  Jessica has earned several certifications from formal studies in western herbal medicine that has complimented her eastern herbal training. The appreciation for healing flora moved Jessica to begin her own organic handcrafted product line, Prima Rx.

Throughout the past decade and beyond, Jessica has presented at national conferences, serves on clinical advisory boards, and is an educator at various universities. She is a published writer and is available for media and press consultation.  Jessica donates much of her time to supporting l causes in the domains of  women’s health and human rights, child and animal welfare, and protection of our natural resources. She is the mom to chihuahua mix duo Chloe and Rosie who are ready to greet you in our healing space.
