Hrydia Basti

Ayurvedic medicine believes that the abode of the soul resides within the heart. The sanskrit word for heart is “hridaya” and is believed to be a central keeper of our intuition, memories and emotions. Ayurveda considers the heart one of the tri-marma (three vital areas). Unlike western medicine, the heart is not contained directly over the organ, but spans the center of the entire chest. This nourishing treatment is perfect to support healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and revitalizes the physical and subtle body. It also nourishes and strengthens the muscles of the chest, improves blood circulation and breathing, and generates a feeling of peace and serenity. Customizable for vata, pitta, or kapha predominant doshas.
Relax on our heated table while your provider applies a homeade dough basin (basti) to the center of the chest and fills with a warm handcrafted botanical oil infused with organic herbs and flowers that have a special resonance with the heart. Following the removal of the oil, the provider will activate the heart center through tapping/activation of the marma points across the chest and anoint this sacred space with rose quarz infused aromatherapy. The treatment will conculde with herbal cleansing and thyroid/throat chakra support.
