Holistic Psychotherapy

holistic psychotherapy

To qualify as a holistic psychotherapist, the provider must respect, honor and address your mind-body-spirit system as a whole. In addition, a holistic health approach must solve problems at their source instead of just treating your symptoms.

Many people call themselves holistic health professionals as this is the new “buzz word”. Unfortunately, many of them are utilizing the same traditional western based techniques and not dong things any differently. This causes us great dismay as clients seeking different answers and approaches are left unfulfilled.

At Prima Wellness our psychotherapy sessions are facilitated by a post-Masters Degree licensed provider with numerous years of experience in the mental health field. Our providers hold dual certifications from accredited schools of Ayurveda, Reiki, and Yoga among other holistic practices.

Your session will not be the typical “talk therapy” session where the focus is placed on the client’s limitations and the therapist in the role of “expert” providing a prescriptive response and cookie-cutter treatment approach.

Discussions and processing will indeed occur; however, other key elements will be integrated depending on our client’s individualized focus.

Examples of this are:

  • Nutrition- Based Counseling
  • Yoga Techniques
  • Ayurvedic Modalities
  • Energy Therapy
  • Medicinal Aromatherapy
  • Assessment of environment and lifestyle
  • Meditation & Mindfulness Practices

Prima Wellness has over a decade of experience in quality assurance and management of large scale evidence based practices. ALL of the above have been proven to be EXTREMELY effective and sustainable approaches when working with a wide range of conditions from simple stress and adjustment to more complex anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Remember….all “holistic” practices are not the same just like medical doctors and academic teachers are not the same. Take time to have a Q&A with your provider before committing and trust your intuition!
